About us

This land was parceled off under The Homestead Act of 1862, signed by Pres. Abraham Lincoln, allowing for anyone above the age of 21 years old to claim up to 160 acres of land. This meant that potential land ownership was available to some marginalized groups, including freed slaves, single women, and immigrants. The act was open to CA between 1863 - 1976. Originally, the surrounding area belonged to the Serrano, the Chemehuevi (aka Southern Paiutes), and the Cahuilla indigenous people. This oasis was called "Mara" before colonists changed the name to "Twenty Nine Palms."
Joshua's Treehouses is a 5-acre property established in 2019 by its owner, and we couldn't be more grateful. Thank you for choosing Joshua's Treehouses!
Renovations
If you're a returning visitor (welcome back!), you might notice a few new additions, including bocce ball court, brand new above-ground pool, renovated sun deck, re-designed bathrooms, refurnished tents, upgraded studio, brand new cabins, and several organically raised Joshua trees (growth in progress!)

Our goal is to create a safe and comfortable space for guests to enjoy and respect the great outdoors, intentionally fall off-grid for a little while, and experience the beauty of the high desert.

    "I am so happy we decided to stay here because it truly exceeded expectations. We did the park early in the am and then enjoyed the the day at the property. The hosts are extremely communicative and gave awesome suggestions! Our favorite part of the trip was looking up at the stars from the hot tub at night. It was so magical! Another great suggestion was the taco truck down the street at the Mesa Market…chicken quesadilla was amazing! The entire property is very well kept and you can tell they put a lot of love into all the details of this place.

    "I had a truly enjoyable stay at Natalie's Airbnb. The location was quiet and inviting, providing a peaceful atmosphere throughout my visit. The cleanliness and maintenance of everything was impeccable, the bed was comfortable, and the pillows and sheets smelled AMAZING... all ensuring a comfortable and well-kept environment. The pool and hot tub were fantastic amenities, offering a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The check-in process was straightforward and hassle-free, and the privacy of the accommodation was more than sufficient. Overall, it was a wonderful getaway, and I would definitely stay here again in the future!
